When I am traveling, I always take pictures of places, scenes, light situations which catch my eye.
This one shows one of the most photographed (my guess) scenes in Amsterdam, the "Dancing houses of Damrak". I can't get enough of the slim, and colorful houses which - by the way - were built high instead of wide to save on tax. Walking these staircases (especially with heavy suitcases) is an adventure of its own.
I used black gesso as a primer and painted with 4 types of blue and titanium white. I like the idea of abstracting a city view and still making it recognizable.
(You can always order a print of my paintings. Just send me an email to siri@siriberlin.de and mention the size you would like, and I will send you an offer.)
