When I walk through Linköping (the town I live in in Sweden) I always take pictures of places, scenes, light situations which catch my eye.

This one shows the backyard of one of Linköping's favorite cafés, "Simøn's". In summer, you can enjoy your (very delicious) coffee in this historic backyard.

I like the idea of abstracting a city view and still making it recognizable. I might paint more views of this backyard. So iconic and treasured.

I used black gesso as a primer, which influenced my choice of color.
