Witnessing a human being becoming who they are is the most delicious process to watch. Seeing someone to overcome pain, fear and shame to present as their original might even give the viewer the chance to become a little more who they really are.

And this we combine with life drawing.

I have the honor to host a special life drawing event with Ylva. Ylva came out in January as trans and is taking her first steps in transitioning. She works as an educator for queer teenagers and also performs in drag shows with her drag persona "Ruby Yaga". (https://www.instagram.com/rubyyaga/)

In this event you will witness Ylva's most personal (non drag) side while posing for artists. Besides drawing Ylva, we get the chance to interview her on transitioning in general and how it feels to be a trans woman in today’s Linköping. All visiters are allowed to bring their questions as well.

This life drawing event is for you if you love to draw from live, if you are queer positive and maybe interested in lerning more about what it means being trans. You can come as a spectator or an artist.

About the host: Siri Berlin is a German artist from Berlin, living in Sweden with her husband with whom she shares an atelier in Linköping. She holds a masters degree in Philosophy and English and German literature and is an educated systemic analytical coach and sex therapist. 

Siri’s main focus in art is drawing and painting from life, be it the human body or a cityscape. Diversity in style and medium is distingushing her body of work. While ink and charcoal dominate in figur drawing she explores watercolor and oils for plain air painting as well as more personal inner world pieces.

Besides being a visual artist Siri writes poems in German and English and hosts a podcast called „Sex&Art“.
